TITLE: Summer Intern
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, temporary, part-time position
WORK SCHEDULE:
Approximately 25 hours per week beginning in May through August. 
The position will work in the office/remotely.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This internship position offers a comprehensive learning experience in a professional setting.
The role encompasses hands-on project work, strategic support activities, and exposure to
various business functions. Working alongside experienced professionals, the intern will gain
practical knowledge while contributing to meaningful organizational initiatives. This dynamic
opportunity balances structured learning with real-world application, providing a foundation for
professional growth through active participation in core business operations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

Execute assigned projects under guidance to support departmental objectives and gain
practical experience in project management fundamentals
• Collaborate with team members to gather, analyze, and synthesize data for reports and
presentations that inform business decisions
• Assist in developing and maintaining documentation of processes, procedures, and
project outcomes to ensure knowledge retention
• Support daily operational activities through research, data entry, and administrative
tasks while learning standard business practices
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand organizational dynamics and
contribute fresh perspectives to ongoing initiatives
• Document findings and prepare regular status updates on assigned work to develop
professional communication skills
• Apply academic knowledge to real-world business scenarios while receiving mentorship
from experienced professionals
• Maintain organized records and files following established protocols to ensure accurate
information management
• Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong customer service orientation- both internal and external
  • Strong communicator, with excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  •  Detail-Oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Proficient using the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Commitment to Union County Foundation’s values and mission

  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Good team player
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: 

  • Regular use of keyboard
  • Consistent sitting for many hours at one time
